Justice Ginsburg has been, and continues to be, a tireless feminist activist. She stopped observing her familial faith, a conservative line of Judaism, because of gender inequalities. She refused to attend a prominent mass other justices attended due to anti-abortion rhetoric.

In an interview on National Public Radio in October 2014, Justice Ginsburg was asked how many female justices she thinks would be enough. Justice Ginsburg is quoted as saying, “When there are nine.” She added, “For most of our country’s history there were nine, and they were all men. Nobody thought that was strange.”
